JOB TITLE: Quality Control Manager
DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Plant Manager
SUBORDINATES: Turning Supervisor, Milling Supervisor
PURPOSE: Overseeing quality for in-process production, sub-contractors, in-coming,
out-going materials.
Position Description:
In this managerial position you will help setup and maintain a total quality program while implementing ISO 9000 and SPC. You will be responsible for overseeing quality of products while determining inspection criteria per operation. You will also be responsible for setup and operation of quality equipment, while understanding product flow and process throughout the shop floor. Additionally, you will be responsible for troubleshooting problem areas, coordinating with the production manager, and communication with customers in order to achieve a total quality system.
Requirements:
Previous experience required using the following equipment and background:
ISO 9000
SPC (statistical process control)
certified mechanical inspector per ASQ (minimum)
certified quality technician per ASQ (preferred).
Minimum 3 years experience.
Good knowledge and use of:
Compactor
CMM (coordinate measuring machine)
Standard metrology equipment
Able to read geometrical/dimensional mechanical drawings
Metallurgy background
Mechanical application
Responsibilities:
Strong communication and relationship skills. Ability to interact with engineering and production in order to identify and solve technical problems.
Achieve 0 defect quality program,
ISO 9000 implementation and continuation.
Follow protocol.
